Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT
Christian Events Watch is an omnibus that specializes in the documentation of the life and times of anointed men of God and their churches, as well as their spiritual exploits in bringing generations to the presence of God.

According to the book of Exodus: 17:14, God said to Moses, "Write this as a memorial in the book and propound it in Joshua's ear.. Exodus 34:28: "And he proceeded to write upon the tablets the words of the convenant, the ten words. And Isaiah 30:8, "Word come, write it upon a tablet with them and inscribe it even in a book, that it may serve for a future days, for a witness to time indefinite."

These are the Bible verses that actually inspired us to conceptualise this special publication. We believe as Christians that we have the obligation to contribute towards the work of God being carried out by church leaders.

And the best way to make an impact is to go from time to time after men of God who are GENUINELY GREAT INSTRUMENTS OF GOD, THOSE WHO ARE CALLED GOD'S GENERALS and feature them for Christians, the world over to learn from their lives.

This, we assure is a task that we will achieve with your support and comprehension in Jesus name.

MESSAGES

Oh God, Arise and Save our NationChristian Police Fellowship, Ikeja Command, Lagos State
Oh God, Arise and Save our Nation Says Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo Lagos State Commissioner of PoliceWith the love of his country radiating all over his heart, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo has called for God’s intervention for the defense of Nigeria against her enemies.

This is one of the prayer points he offered at the end of his message “Be rooted in God which he delivered at the Christian Police Fellowship at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja recently.  He also wanted the hands of the “wicked ones” dragging back the progress of the country to be spiritually withered just as he asked God to do a new thing that would glorify the nation.

The police chief however noted that for new things to happen for the uplift of the country, Nigerians especially members of the Force should be rooted in God. To support his point, he made reference to the book of Psalm 92:13-14 which says “Those that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”
According to him, “if you are not rooted in God, you are rooted else where, but it is only those that are rooted in the house of the lord that will flourish, so you must be connected to God to flourish. Akpoyibo who was disturbed that many people today had been disconnected from God’s house were reminded that such people would sooner or later suffer for their actions.

“Once your root is not in God, your success will be temporary. It is like a tree that its tap root has been cut from its source, the leaves can only last for a day or more before they wither.

To flourish, he said was not to earn promotion or be connected to people in position of authority but to be deeply connected to God through prayers and deeds to fellow human beings adding that “it is then you will enjoy total success.”
Sharing a testimony of a man’s reward for his connection to God, the Lagos State Police boss, spoke of a man who was preaching in a commuter bus and another man in the bus got irritated by the message coming from the Christian and suddenly order that he, the Christian brother should stop preaching. According to the Police commissioner, the Christian brother did not heed the order and this further infuriated the man who headed for the drivers seat and asked him to bring the vehicle to a stop. As the driver halted his bus from moving Akpoyibo recounted how the man brought out an amulet to hit the Christian brother but in his bid to do so, his hand hanged in the air and he started shouting leave my hand! Leave my hand.”

In this development, other passengers in the bus were equally astonished. As his hand was hanging in the air, he called on the Christian brother to prevail on his God to release his hand. The brother however prayed for him and his hand came back to its normal position. Instantly, the evil man brought out all his charms which he burned on the spot and decided to follow the Christian brother on evangelism.” Akpoyibo added.  He said from the incident, the lesson one could learn was the fact that God would not fail anyone who is connected to him and such a person would be full of testimonies.

Concluding his sermon, the police prayed that God should take charge of the Nigerian Police Force and remove whatever the enemies might have done to disgrace the force he added.
Most Churches Are Not Grounded In The Message Of ChristProphet Chinonso AnieboOverseer, Elijah Faith Assembly (Lagos Church)

One important challenge facing many churches especially the end time gospel churches is that they are not grounded in the end time message of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Overseer Elijah Faith Assembly, Lagos, prophet Chinonso F. Aniebo bears his mind on this burning issues in a heart to heart interview during the 1st Anniversary convention of his church with Christian Events Watch.

Prophet Aniebo noted that they are dealing with people who are not grounded in the end time message, saying that many Christian orientations were still after signs and wonders. According to him, it is in view of this that this ministry is conducting different programs such as deliverance, prophesy, ministration of blessed water and holy ghost baptism and other activities like praises, thanksgiving, prayers and bible teaching.  Prophet Aniebo said that many Christians claimed they are in ‘the message’ this different assertion to him, had brought Christians among believers of the end-time message.

His words “Just as Judaism was divided into Various sects; Pharisees, saducees, scribes, Herodians, everyone of them has their own view about the coming of the promised Messiah.” “This is exactly how believers of the end time message have diverse views about the messenger of this age and his message. Prophet Aniebo noted that “the message of our Lord Jesus is not a new doctrine but a ‘message’ which had been there from the beginning, adding that the ‘message’ is all about loving one another.

Prophet Aniebo also talked about his calling and how it manifested in him before he started the ministry. ‘This calling of God upon me was from my mother’s womb. It was prophesied before I was born by a woman, a minister of God call sister Franca of Chirst Spiritual Mission Umunze in Orunba, South L.G.A., Anambra State.”

According to him, God’s calling on him started to manifest when he was an apprentice trader under one Mr. Samuel at Ladipo Main Market, Mushin, Lagos, when he began conducting afternoon prayers with brethren in the market and all night programme every Monday, titiled “Monday Night With Jesus” in the market.

Prophet Aniebo further explained that not satisfied with the program and the pressure mounted on him by the Holy Spirit’s call, left the market in search of a church where he could be guided properly by the word and servants of God, and at the end found a church called The Bride Assembly, Lagos at Kalejaiye, Mafoluku, Lagos.

Prophet Aniebo also told Christian Events Watch how he started his ministry and who gave him the name. “It started precisely on the 28th July, 2008. God gave me the name Elijah Faith Assembly.” According to him, the Ministry is a continuity of the message of Elijah.

Pastor Igbokwe Urges Christians to Allow Holy Spirit to Audit Them
“……For the Spirit searches all things, yea deep things of God” 1 Corinthians 2:10b. The Auditor
By Pastor Enyi Igbokwe

During a recent audit in my work place, I saw tension and fear amidst efforts being made to ensure an audit pass. And audit pass is very important especially for each individual in the unit as this determines a lot of things it can decide as far as your promotion and take home bonus. An audit is basically an official examination of the quality or standard of process. An auditor is a person who ensures that the set quality and standard of a place is maintained. He measures the performance of each staff and endures they live up to the expectations of the one paying them.

With the background above, I guess it makes a lot more sense when God says the Holy Spirit is an auditor. He ensures we live in the standard of Heaven’s kingdom without compromising our faith and destiny in God. He prompts us when we are about to miss it and alerts us to pending danger.

Let’s do a little reflection here. We set goals and targets of the things we want to achieve for God usually at the beginning of the year. We make plans, dwell on our God given aspirations and set things in place to achieve them. Sadly, how many of them do we actually. A lot of times, we are overwhelmed with the challenges life throws at us that we actually forget the reason for our existence. The reason that prompted us to make the decisions we made at the beginning of the year.
With all the emotional breakdown before God and determination to even do more than God expects from us in the beginning of the year, how many did we actually diligently work towards and achieve.

We need to like David in Psalm 51, search and tell ourselves the truth with the help of the Holy Spirit. What would be your paycheck and bonus if you were to be audited? Are we due for spiritual promotion? Good thing is, even if we have missed it at some point and do not qualify for an audit pass, mercy and grace can cry out for us in the place of justice.

The Holy Spirit is an auditor that we all must take seriously if we are to reach our destiny in life. It is simple to have an audit pass, read the rules of the kingdom embedded in the Bible, live accordingly, listen and obey his promptings so you won’t miss it. Invite him now if you don’t have him. Call him to audit you. He’ll surely bring out the best in you.
Measure, weigh and examine yourself, call the Holy Spirit to audit you. He’ll bring out the best in you. Blessings in Jesus name. Amen
